In May and June, Ignite Music’s ‘Borka the Opera tour’ took to the road delighting and entertaining fans of all ages at theatres and festivals throughout the England, Scotland and Northern Ireland, including the Hay Festival, York Festival of Ideas, Barnes Children’s Book Festival and the Wealden Literary Festival. It’s been a wonderful time of music and celebration of Borka for the 60th anniversary of the original books publication.
The original opera was created by librettist Tim Yealland and composer Russell Hepplewhite, based on the story book by John Burningham. It toured the UK as part of the English Touring Opera’s Spring season in 2014.
